Pickleball is an exciting mix of table tennis, badminton and tennis. The court resembles a smaller tennis court, with a shorter net and a non-volley zone, the so-called "kitchen". It is usually played in doubles, with two players per team.
The serve:
The game begins with an underhand serve. The ball must bounce once on both the serve and the return - the so-called two-hit rule. Mistakes such as hitting the net, sending the ball out of bounds or letting it bounce more than twice end the point.
The Kitchen:
In the non-volley zone, players are not allowed to hit the ball directly out of the air. This rule ensures strategic play and exciting rallies.
The points:
Only the serving team can score points. A match ends when one player or team reaches 11 points with at least a two-point lead. Dinking, a strategic shot just over the net, is often crucial to winning points.
